What a great day to start the week! We started PT today with an easy session of drills and exercises. It was really quite easy, but I can see how it would be good for people who haven't worked out in years. We even started getting "smoked" today. I can't say that it is truly a smoking as much as we pay for messing up during the day with some push ups. They are good for us anyways since PT was quite easy.
We had the Deputy Chief of Chaplains come speak to us today. I asked him for his advice to a young chaplain candidate just starting his army career and he recommended I hang in there and pray to God that He would reveal if this is truly His calling. He said I need to be sure going into the chaplaincy. I appreciated the advice.
We had a class on land navigation. I already knew a lot of land nav from ROTC so I spent the time helping my battle buddies at my table. I know that I am usually good at the paper stuff, but when we actually get out to the course I know I am a stereotypical LT. There's nothing more lost than an LT.
We had a lesson on developing Religious Affairs Specialists (56M) into leaders. I thought it was interesting because it seems that a great way to solidify yourself as a great leader is to build other leaders. It was a very good lesson to learn in life.
Since it was raining off and on today it felt like the rainforest outside. Hoping the weather clears up soon but honestly this was a great start to the week. If this is the battle rhythm I can expect from here on out, I am excited. The days move by faster when we get up and do stuff like PT and drill and ceremony.
